Many fun summers at the Purple Sage. I remember Jim Overy and I golfing with our Grandmas, Hilva Horne and Jo Elmer on Saturdays. ur grandmas were friends like Jim and I. Jim also worked the course with me, which was summer time employment from 7th grade through my freshman year at the University of Wyoming.
I took this shot while waiting to interview Scott Ehlers. Our editor at the Herald blended it with a Bear River whitewater shot for the cover of one of our Progress -Outlook editions at the Uinta County Herald.
Really, I'm experimenting with the blog and the new features, so I can produce some screen capture videos to demonstrate to others, who have sites initially designed by , what is possible with the blog. My site is in need of a serious overall. I'll do a few updates, but the big changes will be delayed some.
Now to save and hit the Facebook share button to make sure all is working correctly.....

I have really slipped in updating my own site. I've kept pace with many I've designed for others in keeping content fresh and vibrant, and yet, my own suffers. 2012, time to change all that....
Taking a position as the sports editor for the Uinta County Herald in August of 2011 has played into my lack o' time as a full-time gig, but I really must get caught up with my own web presence, and those I have created for others; it's a matter of scheduling time each week to do so, and training others through narrated screen-capture videos to perform their own updates, when they'd like.
This week is almost shot, coming out of the season of yule and heading to Riverton for three days of radio sportscasting on Thursday, but shortly thereafter...
I think Peter Brady may have said it best with his "When it's time to change, you have to rearrange,' declaration all those years ago.

I like the layout of the old blog better, but have more flexibility with the new. Adding an image and sharing to Facebook is built in. But the blog body font needs to be adjustable. It'll soon have audio and video as add-ins, but I can drop those in anyway, next to a post, I believe, as I'll try here.

This had to be a record-setting attendance this year, wow! The Machine Shop is was jam-packed. Quality entertaiment, lots of bright colors, great Mexican food, cool vendors - no wonder everyone turns out! Lots of visitors to the Etown, too. Plus it was Derby Day. And proceeds from the Fiesta benefit graduating seniors with scholarships - top notch!

Just comparing the new blog in beta form with the existing blog side by side.
I was watching American Idol Wednesday night with my Mom after cruising over for dinner. Cool to see Sheryl Crow on board with the Top 5. When she said we were really going to like Haley Reinhart's take on "House Of the Riding Sun," it was a huge understatement - Wow! I think it was Sheryl who suggested the a capella beginning, and it gave me goose bumps. The rest of the song showcased her sometimes raspy and gnarly chops and was fantastic! My Mom said after it was over that is gave her goosebumps, too - Haley owned the stage that night! I hope she goes on to win the whole thing. I was sure Pia would take the crown, then jumped into Casey's camp, but without question, this is the most talented group of finalists the show has ever seen.
I did acknowledge on the show's first night this season, in a Facebook note, that hiring Steven Tyler was a very savvy move. Sure, I've been a fan of his forever, but I know he's only gained acclaim for himself while his popularity has soared even among non-Aerosmith fans who tune in -- funny, entertaining clever dude looks like whatever he wants, who cares?
Congratulations to Dave & Nina Pitlock on your recent nuptials. Thanks for allowing me to be a small part of your big day - fun crowd! A blast to spin the tunes for you guys tonight!
Cinco de Mayo is being celebrated tomorrow. I have the honor via Evanston Motor Company to drive the Grand Marshal of the 12th annual Cinco de Mayo Fiesta, Mrs. Wyoming, LaKell Archer in the Fiesta Parade and bring in the pinatas for the kids' Pinata Break at the Machine Shop.
Fiesta? Better get a siesta!
